While the main event of the 2007 World Series of Poker (WSOP) is the only one of the WSOP’s 55 tournaments to merit live television coverage–final table play is on ESPN pay-per-view beginning Tuesday–many of the other now-completed ‘07 WSOP tournaments are scheduled to be shown free on ESPN throughout the summer and fall.
Main event action–and not just the final table–will also be shown free on ESPN, but that won’t start until next month.
ESPN began showing taped coverage of this year’s WSOP last Tuesday, when it aired highlights of Event #1, a $5,000 buy-in, mixed-limit Texas hold ‘em tournament, and Event #3, a $1,500 buy-in, no-limit Texas hold ‘em tournament.
Next Tuesday, at 8 p.m. (all times Eastern Time), ESPN is scheduled to air highlights of Event #4, a $1,500 buy-in, pot-limit Texas hold ‘em tourney, followed at 9 p.m. by highlights of Event #8, a $1,000 buy-in, no-limit Texas hold ‘em tourney with rebuys.
There won’t be any coverage shown the following Tuesday, July 24, but on Tuesday, July 31, beginning at 8 p.m., ESPN is to air two hours of highlights of Event #7, a $5,000 buy-in, pot-limit Omaha tournament with rebuys.
On Tuesday, Aug. 7, at 8 p.m., ESPN is scheduled to air two hours of highlights of Event #28, a $3,000 buy-in, no-limit Texas hold -em tourney.
On Tuesday, Aug. 14, at 8 p.m., ESPN is scheduled to air highlights of Event #13, a $5,000 buy-in, pot-limit Texas hold ‘em tournament, followed at 9 p.m. by highlights of Event #31, a $5,000 buy-in, heads-up no-limit Texas hold ‘em tournament, and Event #32, a $2,000 buy-in, seven-card stud tournament.
On Tuesday, Aug. 21, and every Tuesday thereafter through Tuesday, Oct. 9, ESPN is scheduled to show, at 8 p.m., two hours of highlights of the main event, Event #55, a $10,000 buy-in, no-limit Texas hold ‘em tourney.
Beginning on Tuesday, Oct. 16, and running through Tuesday, Oct. 30, ESPN is scheduled to show, at 8 p.m., two hours of highlights of Event #39, a $50,000 buy-in, H.O.R.S.E. tournament.
