Poker Player Shot

An Indiana man was wounded early this morning after being shot during an armed robbery of a home poker game, an Indianapolis newspaper reported.
Police in Noblesville, Ind., USA, an Indianapolis suburb, said a poker game was in progress at the residence of Hans Peterson at about 2:30 a.m. when two gun-toting bandits entered the home through the front door and demanded money, the Indianapolis Star reported.
Police said the gunmen then ordered everyone onto the floor and began collecting their money, when one of the poker players, Davis J. Nicoson, attempted to disarm one of the robbers and was shot during a struggle, the Star reported.
Police said the gunmen then fled with an undetermined amount of cash, the newspaper reported.
Nicoson was treated for a minor gunshot wound at a local hospital and released, it reported.
The newspaper quoted Noblesville police officer Brad Arnold as saying Nicoson was “definitely very fortunate” not to have been injured more seriously, and that the injury was just “a flesh wound.”
A preliminary police investigation into the incident revealed none of the poker players knew the robbers, who didn’t wear masks.
