WSOP Down to 9

Every player who reaches the final table at the main event of the World Series of Poker (WSOP) will become a half-millionaire, at least.
And five of the nine at the table will become outright millionaires, with a sixth coming close.
Play continued at the main event in Las Vegas Sunday, as the field was scheduled to be winnowed to the final nine players by day’s end.
Final table play is then scheduled to begin Tuesday.
For the lucky nine who make the final table, these will be the payouts:
The 2007 WSOP main event winner will earn $8,250,000.
The runnerup will earn $4,840,981.
The third-place finisher will earn $3,048,025.
The fourth-place finisher will earn $1,852,721.
The fifth-place finisher will earn $1,255,069.
The sixth-place finisher will earn $956,243.
The seventh-place finisher will earn $705,229.
The eighth-place finisher will earn $585,699 .
The ninth-place finisher will earn $525,934.
In other WSOP main event news, four more well-known names were eliminated and finished in the money.
Poker pro Humberto “El Wacko” Brenes, the Costa Rica native who now lives in Florida, finished in 83rd place and earned $82,476.
Poker pro Huck Seed of Las Vegas, Nev., USA, who won the WSOP main event in 1996, finished in 73rd place and earned $106,382.
Poker pro Kirk Morrison of Wichita, Kan., USA, finished in 56th place and earned $154,194.
Maria Ho of Arcadia, Calif., USA, the longest-lasting woman in the tournament, finished in 38th place and earned $237,865.
