A celebrity poker tournament for charity is scheduled to be held at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas on Nov. 3, 2007.
The event, organized by rock star Vince Neil of Motley Crue, is the third annual Off-The-Strip Poker Tournament at The Joint.
Proceeds from the tourney are slated to go to the Skylar Neil Memorial Fund and The T.J. Martell Foundation, organizations which have raised more than $235 million for cancer and AIDS research.
Neil’s daughter, Skylar, died of cancer.
The tournament will be open to the general public.
It will feature no-limit Texas hold’em and is open to the first 150 players who sign up.
The tournament buy-in is $550, and re-buys and an add-on will be offered during play.
Players will vie for a guaranteed cash prize pool of $50,000, leaving at least $25,000 for the charities.
Payouts will be made to the final table of 10.
Prior to the tournament, a charity auction featuring celebrity memorabilia is to take place at the casino.
The auction begins at 3 p.m., followed by the tournament at 4 p.m.
