Cheater Caught
Written by Tom Somach in Poker NewsA poker player from New York City was arrested Thursday after he was caught cheating in the poker room of an Indian casino in Connecticut.
According to media reports about the incident, Sholem J. Weisner, 26, of Brooklyn, was caught marking cards during a game of Texas hold ‘em in the poker room of the Mohegan Sun Casino in Uncasville, Conn.
He was charged with cheating, larcency and criminal trespass, and released on $5,000 bail, the reports said.
He is scheduled to appear in Superior Court in Norwich, Conn., on December 6, the reports said.
Police found $55,000 in Weisner’s hotel room at the casino, the reports said.
According to Mohegan Sun officials, Weisner had previously been caught cheating in the casino’s poker room in 2006, but was not arrested at the time, just thrown out and told he was banned from returning, the reports said.
This time, the officials said, Weisner used a friend’s ID to check into the casino’s hotel, the reports said.
