1B Hands for Brits
Written by Tom Somach in Poker NewsLadbrokes’ (www.ladbrokes.com) poker room is the latest online poker room celebrating one billion hands of poker dealt.
The British online site, which features not just poker but also casino games and sports betting, announced it will soon deal its one billionth hand of poker, and to commemorate (read that: promote) the event, is running a special tournament. Dubbed the Billionth Hand Freeroll, the tourney is to give away World Series of Poker (WSOP) packages to the top 20 finishers in the tournament.
Ladbrokes didn’t release precise details of the $14,000 packages, but they are expected to cover airfare to Las Vegas, where the WSOP is held, hotel fees, other expenses and, of course, the $10,000 buy-in to the WSOP Main Event.
The next 200 runners-up in the Billionth Hand Freeroll are to be given a second chance to play for a WSOP package in the Ladbrokes $109 WSOP Daily Final tourney, Ladbrokes said.
Ladbrokes expects its one billionth hand to be dealt next month.
Ladrokes poker room flack Edward Ihre said: “The billionth hand will be dealt some time during June…It’s a very exciting promotion…We’re keen for as many of our players as possible to celebrate our B Day online with us.”
