Irish online gambling site Paddy Power (www.paddypower.com) is among the many betting sites offering betting odds on the upcoming World Series of Poker (WSOP) in Las Vegas.

In the past, betting sites offering WSOP odds generally offered odds on who would win the Main Event of the WSOP, the $10,000 buy-in, no-limit Texas hold ‘em tournament whose winner is considered the overall winner of the WSOP.

But with a new WSOP procedure in place this year–the Main Event final table will be set with nine players on July 15 but won’t be played out until after a four-month break–betting sites are now offering odds on who will make the final table, so bettors won’t have to wait until November to see if their WSOP bets win.

Daniel “Kid Poker” Negreanu, Phil “Poison” Ivey and Carlos Mortensen are among the favorites at Paddy Power to make the 2008 WSOP Main Event final table, each listed at a mere 100-1, meaning a bettor who wagers $1 on the self-proclaimed “Kid Poker” to make the final table will win $100 if the Canadian wonderboy does so.
