One of the winners at the 2008 World Series of Poker (WSOP) in Las Vegas
has a shocking past–he spent six months in prison for drug trafficking!
Professional poker player Mike “The Mouth” Matusow, known as much for
his poker skills as for his non-stop jabber at the poker tables, earlier
this month won 2008 WSOP Event #18, a $5,000 buy-in, no-limit 2-7
lowball draw tourney with rebuys.

The 41st tournament at the 2008 World Series of Poker (WSOP) in Las
Vegas had a distinct international flavor–five different nations were
represented among the Top 10 finishers.
Poker players from the USA, Canada, Germany, Sweden and Ireland all
finished in the Top 10 in WSOP Event #41, a $1,000 buy-in, mixed-limit
Texas hold ‘em tournament that had 731 entrants, 72 payouts and a total
prize pool of about $1 million.

A 30-year-old immigrant from South Korea who has been playing poker
professionally in the USA for five years has beaten out 2,719 other
competitors to win Event #39 at the 2008 World Series of Poker (WSOP) in
Las Vegas.
David “The Magnificent” Woo, who now calls Atlanta, Georgia, USA home,
will be taking a magnificent $631,656 home to Dixie for winning the
event, a $1,500 buy-in, no-limit Texas hold ‘em tournament that had
2,720 entrants, 270 payouts and a total prize pool of about $3.7
million.

A poker pro suspected of murdering his mother and poker pro father is
attending the 2008 World Series of Poker (WSOP) in Las Vegas, Nevada,
USA.
As has been reported, poker pro Ernest Scherer III of Brea, California,
USA, is the prime suspect in the March murders of his parents, Ernest
Scherer Jr., also a professional poker player, and his wife, Charlene.

A 48-year-old poker pro from Las Vegas, who got his start dealing
blackjack at the now-defunct Dunes hotel and casino on Vegas’ famed
Strip, has won Event #35 at the 2008 World Series of Poker.
Mike Rocco, who was born in Cleveland, Ohio, USA, and moved to Las
Vegas, Nevada, USA, 25 years ago to work in the casino industry,
collects $135,753 for the victory, and his first career WSOP
championship gold bracelet.

U.S. and is most accessible to those living there.

Barry Greenstein, the nerdy poker pro who says he gives all his
tournament winnings to charity, has won his third career World Series of
Poker (WSOP) championship gold bracelet.
Poker’s version of a hat trick came in
Event #26 at the 2008 WSOP in Las Vegas, a $1,500 buy-in, razz
tournament that had 453 entries, payouts to the Top 48 finishers and a
total prize pool of about $600,000.

brothers have won championship gold bracelets at the same WSOP.
Earlier this month it was Grant Hinkle, winning 2008 WSOP Event #2, a
$1,500 buy-in, no-limit Texas hold ‘em tournament that came with a top
prize of $831,462.

Veteran poker pro Humberto “El Wacko” Brenes has become just the seventh
player in the history of the World Series of Poker (WSOP) to finish in
the money in 50 WSOP events in a career.
He finished in 14th place in Event #21 of the 2008 World Series of Poker
(WSOP) in Las Vegas and won $34,357 for his landmark career WSOP cash.

bracelet.

Texas hold ‘em shootout tournament that had 1,000 entrants and a total
prize pool of about $1.3 million. The Top 100 finishers cashed.

who has no notches and who no one has ever heard of.
You’d expect the veteran gunfighter to win, but then, Boot Hill is full
