Online poker room Iron Duke (www.ironduke.com) has announced that it has signed professional poker player and porn model Jennifer “Jennicide” Leigh as its first celebrity spokesperson.

Leigh first came onto the celebrity scene when she appeared on television in 2005 on the Game Show Network’s “Poker Royale–Battle of the Ages” series.

The series featured professional poker players over the age of 60 competing against professional poker players under the age of 30.

Leigh, just 21 at the time, won three of her six matches, including beating top pros Dan Harrington and “Miami” John Cernuto, and earning $16,000.

All told, she has won about $60,000 in her career playing in live tournaments, plus an unknown amount playing in cash games and online.

In what could be described as the high point or low point in her celebrificiation–depending on your point of view–she posed nude for the American porn mag, Playboy, in May of 2008.

Now age 24, the resident of Wilmington, Delaware, USA, is wasting no time in shilling Iron Duke.

“They have lots of different limits and probably the most games available on the Internet,” Leigh said of the room in a press announcement. “They even have games like badugi. It’s exciting. This is certainly a site I can grow with.”

Part of her paid duties at Iron Duke are to mix with the regular people–that is, non-celebs.

That means playing online against Average Joes and letting them know who they’re playing against.

“I know that not everybody can afford to sit there and play high limits,” said Leigh.

“I want to play with everyone and I want to play no-limit games, even if it’s just 25-cent no-limit. The professionals online mostly play limit. But this will be one of those things where I want to be able to actually talk and play with people who don’t necessarily play high limits.”

In addition, Leigh is to make appearances at poker tournaments around the world to flack Iron Duke, including at the upcoming second annual World Series of Poker Europe (WSOPE) next month in London, England.

Nothing against a porn model, but wouldn’t it make more sense to hire poker pro Annie Duke to shill Iron Duke?

Probably, but since Annie has won more than 100 times as much dough playing tournament poker as “Jennicide,” she probably costs 100 times as much to shill, too, and Iron Duke can’t afford her.
