10 Years in Heist
Written by Tom Somach in Poker NewsA woman accused of stealing $27,000 from a West Virginia poker game last year pleaded guilty this week to armed robbery.
According to media reports, Jacqueline Dennis, 28, and another woman, Kimberly Steinbrecher, 45, were each carrying pistols when they robbed a group of men playing poker in a storage building in Hurricane, West Virginia, USA, in November of 2007.
The gun-toting gal bandits got away with a money bag containing about $27,000, media reports said.
No one was injured in the robbery, media reports said.
This week, in a plea bargain agreement, Dennis pleaded guilty in Putnam County Court in Winfield, West Virginia, USA, to armed robbery in connection with the incident, media reports said.
As part of the agreement, Dennis will receive no more than 10 years in prison, and she will also testify against her partner in crime, Steinbrecher, if she goes on trial, media reports said. =A0=A0 During her legal proceeding, Dennis admitted she knew about the high-stakes poker game she later robbed because her “baby daddy” (the father of her illegitimate child) was one of the participants in the game and told her about it, media reports said.
She then confessed to the judge: “I went in with a gun and robbed them.”
