Written by Tom Somach in Poker NewsAn illegal poker club in Colorado has been shut down by authorities.
According to media reports, the Colorado Bureau of Investigation (CBI) raided the club, Larry’s All-in Poker Club, in Pueblo, Colorado, USA, last week.
After the raid, the CBI charged the club’s owner, Larry Lee Wittman, 63, with professional gambling, a misdemeanor, media reports said.
In addition, about a half dozen patrons, who were playing poker at the club at the time of the raid, were charged with gambling, also a misdemeanor, media reports said.
According to the CBI, the club was illegal because it charged a $5 an hour fee to the poker players, something allowed only in licensed casinos, media reports said.
There was also an illegal slot machine on the premises of the club, media reports said.
It was the third time Wittman has been cited for running an illegal poker operation, media reports said.
