British poker pro Liv Boeree has signed on as a paid flack for online poker room Ultimate Bet (www.ultimatebet.com), the room announced.

Boeree formerly served as a paid flack for online poker room Absolute Poker (www.absolutepoker.com), where her official title was brand ambassador.

At Ultimate Bet, she will officially be a member of the room’s so-called Team UB, a stable of paid-for poker pros whose main job is to shill for Ultimate Bet by playing online at the room and offline in tournaments around the world.

Her record in offline tourneys, though, is not impressive.

According to official tournament records, she was won just $156,094 in her career playing tournament poker offline.

So why has she been hired as an Internet poker room shill?

She may have won lots of money playing offline cash games, online cash games and online tourneys, but no official records are kept on those.

More likely, it’s her attractive looks that have gotten her hired, not her poker talent.

Nevertheless, Boeree joins an Ultimate Bet shill squad that includes fellow poker pros Phil “Poker Brat” Hellmuth Jr., Annie Duke, Brandon Cantu, Michael Binger, Tiffany Michelle, “Hollywood” Dave Stann, Matt Graham, Scott Ian and Adam “Roothlus” Levy.

If Boeree, who has a degree in astrophysics from the Univeristy of Manchester in England, is concerned about her public image and who she shills for, she is not showing it.

Both her former employer, Absolute Poker, and her current employer, Ultimate Bet, were involved in well-publicized cheating scandals in recent months.
