Brit Wins in France

Jake Cody has won the Main Event on the latest stop of the European Poker Tour (EPT).
Cody, 21, from Rochdale, England, won the Main Event at EPT Deauville.
The Main Event was a no-limit Texas hold ‘em tournament?that had 768 entrants.
The event was held at the trendy Casino Barriere de Deauville in Deauville, France.
For the victory, Cody takes home 857,000 euros, or about a million dollars U.S.
Coming in second in the event was Teodor Caraba of Romania, who earned 516,000 euros.
Taking third was Mike “Timex” McDonald of Canada who earned 295,000 euros.
The crafty Canadian is the youngest person ever to win an EPT event–he won an EPT tourney in Dortmund, Germany in 2008 at age 18.
Top pros competing in the EPT Deauville Main Event include Peter Eastgate of Denmark, who won the World Series of Poker Main Event in 2008, finishing eighth, and Bertrand Grospellier of France, who came in ninth.
The next stop on the EPT will be EPT Copenhagen, on February 16-21, 2010, in Copenhagen, Denmark.
