‘Grinder’ is Deadbeat

One of the most successful professional poker players in the world is a deadbeat.

The Sun-Sentinel, a newspaper in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, USA, reported this week that poker pro Michael “The Grinder” Mizrachi, who has earned almost $7 million in his career playing offline tournament poker, owes the U.S. government more than $339,000 in unpaid Federal back taxes. (more…)

Full Tilt Signs Phenom

Norwegian poker sensation Annette Obrestad has been signed to flack for online poker room Full Tilt Poker (www.fulltiltpoker.com), the room announced.

Obrestad, who recently celebrated her 21st birthday, had flacked for a competitor, Betfair Poker (www.betfair.com), for the past three years. She came to world attention in 2007 in London, England when she won the Main Event of the inaugural World Series of Poker Europe and, at age 18, became the youngest person ever to win a WSOP or WSOPE event. American TV morning show host George Stephanopoulos will play against top poker pros as part of a stunt for sweeps month.
