Question A question

Hello,
i've started playing texas hold 'em with friends lately.
now, we came across this situation a few times:

Player 1 has 10$
Player 2 has 10$
Player 3 has 1$
Player 4 has 10$

now, if Player 1 wants to raise 2$, can he do that? or is he limited to 1$ (because of player 3)?

thanks in advance

A player can raise any amount that they have. If player 1 raises to $2, player 3 is only eligible for the amount that he has. This means that Player 3's $1 and $1 from player 1 is in the main pot. If player 2 calls the $2 raise, $1 will go to the main and $1 will go to a side pot, which would be a total of $2 that is only able to be won by Player 1 or Player 2
