The third annual TASER Foundation for Fallen Officers Charity Poker Tournament is scheduled to be held December 1, 2007, at the Palms Resort and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA.
According to event organizers, the theme of this year’s tourney is “Beauty and the Bet,” as Hellmuth is to be joined by four Playboy playmates who are to serve as tournament co-hosts.
Half of the proceeds from the tournament will go toward tournament prize monies and the other half will be donated to the TASER Foundation for Fallen Officers, organizers said.
In addition to cash prizes, other prizes that can be won at the tourney include a pair of tickets to the next Super Bowl, Super Bowl XLII in Arizona, next February, as well as tickets to Playboy magazines’s Super Bowl party the night before the game, organizers said.
“We are thrilled to bring Phil Hellmuth back for our third annual poker fundraiser,” said Gerry Anderson, the TASER Foundation’s executive director.
“Phil Hellmuth is a huge draw and anyone who watches the World Series of Poker knows that he brings his A-game to play.
“We couldn’t be happier to provide such a unique opportunity for the community to support the families of fallen officers who have tragically lost their lives in the line of duty.” =A0 The TASER Foundation for Fallen Officers, founded in 2004, honors law enforcement officers in the U.S. and Canada who died in the line of duty, by providing financial support to their families.
To date, the organization has distributed over a million dollars to 300 families in North America.
